The Stanway School Celebrates Excellent GCSE Results with Significant Progress Across Key Subjects

The Stanway School is today celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results, marking a year of significant progress and outstanding achievement for its students. The school has seen a notable increase in the number of students achieving both the Standard Pass (grade 4 or higher) and the Strong Pass (grade 5 or higher) in both English and Mathematics, reflecting the hard work and dedication of the entire school community.

This year's results demonstrate a school-wide commitment, with students achieving across a diverse range of subjects. Beyond the core subjects of English and Maths, there were also strong performances in Science, the Humanities (including History and Geography) and a host of other written subjects, with students achieving more than 50 Grade 9s. In addition, our range of vocational subjects also saw brilliant results, with subjects such as Art, Graphics, Drama, Construction and Travel & Tourism achieving some of their best ever results, showcasing the breadth of student talent across the school’s curriculum.

John Player, Head of School, commented, "I am incredibly proud of our students and staff for their determination, dedication and hard work. These results are fitting rewards for their endeavours, especially given the challenges they faced at the start of their secondary education with the disruptions of Covid-19. The significant progress we have made in English and Maths is particularly pleasing, as it provides our young people with the key access routes for Post-16 courses and with essential foundations for future success."

Jonathan Bland, Executive Headteacher, further commented "What is truly inspiring is the strong performance we've seen across the board. Our students have succeeded not just in core academic areas, but have also shone in the creative and technical subjects, which prepares them for a wide array of future pathways. We wish all our students the very best as they embark on their next steps, whether that is in further education, apprenticeships, or the world of work."
