That Was The Week, That Was - 19th September 2025
We are now into the second rotation of our two-week timetable, so students have all now met all their teachers and classes for this year. So far, it has been a whirlwind of positivity, with so many students picking up Stanway Standards Reward points in lots of lessons. Year 7 has been particularly impressive, achieving the highest of all year groups in the school… until this week! Year 8 have taken the challenge up and really shown how good they too can be, as whilst I am writing this week’s update, they have earned almost a thousand more points this week! Great efforts everybody - keep this up!
Next week is a very exciting week for the school, as it is our Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday. For me, this is a wonderful event in so many ways, not least because the students themselves are the ones who take our prospective parents round and show them their school. Every year, we get such amazing feedback from the parents about how nice our students are, how helpful they are and just how informative they have been. They really are our best advocates. This year will be no different. Whilst we may have had some excellent results in the GCSEs in 2025, been featured in national and international press and even had our own documentary, it is our community that is the heart and soul of our school. I can’t wait to open up our community to our new Year 6 parents and pupils.
On that note, I would like to remind you all that we are closing a fraction early on Thursday to set up for the Open Evening. Students will be finishing their school day at 1.30 pm. Communication has already been sent out about this, but I thought I’d just add the little reminder here as well. Thank you in advance to the hundreds of students that will be helping out in the evening - we couldn’t do it without you!
Lastly this week, I wanted to just ask that if your children have any success and experiences outside of school, that you also let us know. This term we have already learned about Jaxson, who has been involved in professional modelling for Adidas and Next, Maya, who has been selected for the U19 London Pulse Netball Squad and Zach, who has recently celebrated more swimming competition victories. Well done to all three students on their achievements. We would love to hear about even more students and their achievements, so please do get in touch.
Have a lovely weekend
