Cross-Country Charity Run: Supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital

Cross-Country Charity Run: Supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital

GOSH Charity launches biggest ever fundraising appeal - UK Fundraising

From the 6th-10th of October Stanway School took part in a 2km cross-country run that was successfully held to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The event saw students from year 7-10 take part during their PE lessons on the field.

The primary goal of the event was to support GOSH in its mission to provide life-changing care for seriously ill children. This objective was met with outstanding success, both in terms of student engagement and the final financial contribution.

The event achieved a fundraising ongoing total of £2,694

This exceptional amount was raised through donation made to our Great Ormond Street Hospital donation page which can be found here: https://race.gosh.org/fundraisers/aaronreedma

All of our year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students took part in the run which totals in over 1100 students. Even though it may have been daunting and a tough challenge, students approached with enthusiasm and camaraderie knowing their efforts were all going towards a fantastic cause.  The event fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and achievement, with the focus remaining on participation and charitable giving rather than competitive times.

The 2 km Cross-Country Charity Run was an unequivocal success, achieving its ambitious fundraising target of £2,500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. This success is a direct result of the generosity of our sponsors and the enthusiastic participation of every single runner.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved for their contribution to this vital cause.
