Summer 2020 Results/Appeals & Support

Summer 2020 Results/Appeals & Support

On Thursday 20th August you will be able to access your exam results via Go 4 Schools (https://www.go4schools.com/students/). 2020 will be a very unique and an even more anxious time this year for students awaiting exam results. The results this year will not be based on your efforts in the exams you should have taken in May and June, but instead will be the Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) that the school submitted in June. These CAGs were based on your performance in each subject up until the start of the lockdown in March.

On results day, staff at the Stanway School, as well as staff at your chosen college or sixth form will be available to help should you need to discuss your results or post 16 course.

Early yesterday evening (19th August), Ofqual announced that some exam boards (including OCR and Pearsons) who are issuing Vocational and Technical Qualifications, which include BTECs, have decided that they will be reissuing students’ grades to take more account of the CAG’s.   This is to ensure results are in line with GCSE’s and students are not at a disadvantage.  These results will be sent to students as soon as soon as possible.  Please be assured, the results they have received for any BTEC subjects today will not be lowered, but for some, they may see an increase in the grade awarded.

For worries about not being able to access your preferred route of study for Year 12, you can contact your chosen College or Sixth Form directly who will be able to advise you or if you would prefer to speak to our careers advisors, please contact:

01206 245077 or 01206 245056 for Mrs Deighton or Mrs Laney

For general concerns, contact your former Head of House or a member of the Senior Team:

Gainsborough 01206 245033 or 01206 245020

Nightingale 01206 245045 or 01206 245021

Rutherford 01206 245044 or 01206 245099

Shakespeare 01206 245034 or 01206 245010

Wellington 01206 245040 or 01206 245013

They will try to answer any questions you have over the phone or arrange an appointment for a longer discussion.

Please note, all contact with the school must be via telephone or by email. We will be unable to receive visits from families or individuals arriving at the school to discuss their grades in person.
